Fall 2026
When creating this collection, I was thinking about the relationship between humans and nature.
We take materials from nature and transform them for our own needs. We cut wood, change its shape and turn it into something new. But does nature end in this process?
I used real wood that had been processed by human hands as a symbol of this relationship. It was once part of a tree, then became a material and then became part of my work. But stays a part of nature regardless.
I also created abstract patterns that resemble natural textures. Here, I was thinking about another side of our relationship with nature: we don't only use it, we also try to imitate it. We look at the patterns, forms and structures that nature creates and try to create them ourselves. Is this still nature?
These four works look at these two sides of the same relationship: how we transform nature
and how we try to recreate it.
Fall 2026 is about the question I keep coming back to: when we change nature or imitate it,
how separate from it are we really?
